Jump Start Your America Alive Portfolio Tomorrow at Chicano Park!

Tomorrow, Saturday the 12th I will be leading a tour in a American Studies paradise: Chicano Park.

Please join me for the tour at 10 (I will be there by 9:30). Lunch at a nearby restaurant on me for those who join the party!

Below is a map of the area including the park (you can park right there). Take the 5 South and get of on the Cesar Chavez exit (see map).

• Complete Race, Class, Gender cards for play
• Arrange copies of two films--Pocahontas and The New World--to view for next week
• Hold Rehearsal #1 with your group

• Memorize 6-8 lines from the play
• View Pocahontas

For Thursday September 10

• Hold Rehearsal #2 with your group
• View The New World

Saturday, September 12

• Optional Chicano Park Trip (for America Alive Portfolio Project)
• Online Quiz #1 available (due by Saturday, September 19)

Tuesday, September 15

• Prepare for Pocahontas in-class performances (hold second rehearsal if necessary)
• Catch up on film viewing and/or reading

Thursday, September 17

• Pocahontas in-class performances
• View Pocahontas powerpoint #1
• Complete Daily Life Project Research Activity #1
• First Service Learning Trip (optional activity for Portfolio Project)
