After my performance at the Jumping Turtle in San Marcos, I was surprised at all the different kinds of cultures present for the entertainment. We play thrash metal and from what I have summed up, this specific type of music brings together all the cultures I have seen in all of my years of living. There were Mexicans, Americans, Persians, Germans, the list can go on until the tongue hurts, and it is a fascinating thing to see. All of these people have the same taste, therefore are like family to each other, all having a good time and enjoying the music performed. In LA the thrash scene is huge and that is where the Mexican culture is alive in the specific type of music. We were privileged to play with a Los Angeles band called Fueled by Fire which were popular all around the world so that was probably a reason why all the different kinds of people were present. It was a fascinating thing to play in front of such a huge and wild crowd, definitely something to be remembered and brag about to my friends and others. And it was also an experience to meet all the cultures I have just observed all throughout my days of living, I actually had the opportunity to have one on one conversations and gotten different comments of appraisal. This can relate to the Pocahontas time and when John Smith became an interesting creature to the Indians, he became family, and that is how I have seen my visit to The Jumping turtle, as a time where we all became family.
