What does the Forum in Encinitas tell us about class in America?
When you walk around the Encinitas forum you soon realize that people there are higher class. The way you can tell is by their cars, mostly what you see there are BMW’s or Mercedes, some even drive around in limos. Also why it’s easy to tell that they are higher class is because when people shop there they don’t worry about how much money they are spending. Also people there wear expensive brand name clothes and the woman wear the brand name purses and sunglasses. Most of the people shopping there are white you don’t get to see much diversity. Unlike at the Carlsbad mall you see all different kinds of people and a selection of cars. Also people at Carlsbad mostly just walk around unlike at the Encinitas where people don’t walk out of stores without bags in their hands. I believe that the higher class expects to be treated better than the lower class and it is harder to please them, but unlike before where being a higher class depended on who you will marry or going to a good school today even though being a higher class does bring more advantages and material stuff it doesn’t get you respect and you aren’t treated that much different and I think in that way the meaning of class in America has changed allot.
